Finding the right living situation - whether it’s building life skills, transitioning into independent living, or finding a supportive housing setup - can feel like navigating a maze. Thankfully, Ontario offers a range of region-friendly supports to help make the process less daunting.
That said, it’s important to do your due diligence. While many organizations provide safe, caring, and empowering environments, there have also been heart-wrenching stories of neglect and abuse in some residential settings. Take the time to research, visit in person, ask questions, and speak with other families before making any decisions.
